"The Music Man" grew up listening and loving The Atlantic Records Sound, The Chess Records Sound, The Motown Sound, The Philly Sound as well as The Stax Records Sound.

As the only grandchild in the home, "The Music Man" would listen to music to keep him company and to visualize the stories sung in the songs. Back in the day and neighborhood, the young people would buy 45 records and 33 albums to listen to and play at house parties.

The young people would play songs back to back to back to keep everyone on the dance floor and when the young men wanted to dance with a certain young lady, they would play long slow songs like "I Wanna Know Your Name" and "Stay In My Corner"(they were trying to get their grind on).
